HNC Level 4 in Engineering
Attendance
The course runs for two years and is taught as a full day with options of the afternoon and evening. Flexible attendance is possible but this will extend the length of the course. Evening-only and one year full-time courses may be available depending on numbers.
Programme Format
There are 3 core units which must be taken: maths, science and a project.These are worth 50 credits. 5 further units will depend on your specialism – mechanical, electrical/electronic or general engineering. These provide a minimum of 70 credits.
Assessment
You will be assessed by a combination of assignment work and timed examinations.
Grading
The course will be graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction using the grades from your best 75 credits.

Higher National Diploma Level 5 in Engineering
Diploma Attendance
ATG Training will create an individual learning plan for your particular requirements. This will ensure you achieve the correct units at the right level to meet the 240 credit requirement. This part-time course lasts for 1 or 2 years dependent on the units taken at Level 4.
Programme Format
The same as for HNC, plus an additional core unit and a further seven optional units. A total of 8 units are required at HND Level.
Assessment
You will be assessed by a combination of assignment work and timed examinations.
Grading
The course will be graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction using the grades from your best 75 credits.
